Losing weight is a journey that can be challenging and frustrating, especially if you have tried multiple diets and exercise routines that haven’t worked. This is why many people look for quick fixes such as weight loss drugs. However, while weight loss drugs can provide rapid weight loss, they come with severe side effects that you may not know about.
In this article, we’ll discuss the dangers of weight loss drugs, specifically Ozempic and Wago. We’ll also provide tips for healthy weight loss that don’t require the use of drugs.
The Dangers of Ozempic and Wago
Ozempic and Wago are weight loss drugs that are commonly prescribed to people with diabetes to help manage their blood sugar levels. However, many doctors are now prescribing these drugs to people who don’t have diabetes to help them lose weight.
The problem is that these drugs come with severe side effects. While they may cut your appetite and provide rapid weight loss, they only have that effect as long as you continue to inject yourself weekly with the drug. Once you stop taking the drug, you’re likely to gain back the weight you lost.
Additionally, many people who take Ozempic and Wago experience nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, gas, and other unpleasant side effects. In the long term, these drugs can also lead to pancreatitis, thyroid issues, and gallbladder issues. These side effects are not worth the rapid weight loss that these drugs provide.
Healthy Tips for Weight Loss
As a registered dietitian with over 15 years of experience, I understand how frustrating it can be to try multiple diets and exercise routines that don’t work. However, there are healthy ways to lose weight that doesn’t require the use of drugs.
First, make sure to have breakfast within 60 to 90 minutes of waking up. Eating breakfast gets your body and metabolism going, and skipping breakfast can slow your metabolism down. Make sure to eat something every three to four hours throughout the day, including healthy snacks like yogurt, nuts, veggies and hummus, fruit, and Greek yogurt.
Drinking plenty of water and staying well-hydrated can also help prevent cravings and overeating. Regular exercise is also crucial for weight loss. This can include formal exercise like going to the gym, running, or taking a spin class, or informal exercise like going for walks or doing exercise videos at home.
