Frozen Snacks That Can Instantly Cool You Off In The Summer

Yogurt Covered Blueberries

Blueberries are one of my favorite fruits, because they are filled with fiber and antioxidants.  They taste amazing in the summer, and pairing them with Greek Yogurt, makes them an extra delicious snack with added protein.

Recipe:

Ingredients:

Pint of Blueberries

Vanilla, Plain or Honey Greek Yogurt

Instructions: Dip some blueberries in Greek Yogurt.  You can put a few in the yogurt at once, or do one at a time, dipping each blueberry in the yogurt with a toothpick.  Next, take each blueberry out individually and place on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper.  Place the cookie sheet in the freezer for at least an hour.  Slide the blueberries off to eat or place them in a Ziploc bag back in the freezer to save for later!

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Strawberries are so delicious and sweet, but its fun to indulge them once in a while with some dark chocolate.  Strawberries are filled with fiber, and are low-calorie. When you dip strawberries in chocolate they are a great treat that you don’t have to feel guilty about!  The dark chocolate is packed with antioxidants and can be good for your heart (when eaten in moderation)

Recipe:

Ingredients:

2oz dark chocolate

12 Strawberries

Instructions: Place chocolate in a microwavable safe bowl and microwave on medium for one minute then stir.  Place bowl back in the microwave and microwave at 20-second intervals until melted.  Stir the chocolate after each 20 second interval.  Or place in the top of a double boiler over hot, but not boiling, water. Stir until melted. Dip each strawberry in the chocolate.  Then place each strawberry on a baking sheet lined with wax paper.  Freeze or refrigerate the strawberries until chocolate is firm, at least 30 minutes.

Frozen Bananas

One of my favorite frozen treats in summer.  Freezing a banana, can feel like you are eating ice cream, without the extra calories.  Bananas are filled with potassium, which can help with dehydration.  In the summertime and when it is hot out, it is important to make sure you don’t get dehydrated.

Ingredients:

Bananas

Popsicle sticks

Instructions: Peel bananas, cut in half if you want, insert popsicle stick and freeze on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper or place in a zip loc bag.  Let sit for at least an hour or overnight.  You can have an instant frozen treat.
